$15,000 Sign-on Bonus

As our most acute level of care, our specialty hospitals provide the same critical care patients receive in a traditional hospital or ICU, but for an extended recovery period. Our clinicians play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients.

Registered Nurse – Advanced Skills / ICU RN

Summary: Provides quality patient care to critically ill patients through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Acts as a patient advocate at all times. Supervises the nursing care provided by other caregivers. Develops the nursing care plan in coordination with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team. Applies critical thinking to promote positive outcomes and ensures patient education and discharge planning.

  • Maintains nursing care standards and follows hospital and department policies.
  • Assesses patients on admission within the required timeframe, referring to other disciplines as needed.
  • Develops and updates nursing care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and the team.
  • Manages restraints and ensures proper patient positioning.
  • Documents assessments, care plans, and pertinent information accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Demonstrates correct use of biomedical equipment (defibrillators, suction devices, IV and feeding pumps, PCA, blood glucose monitors).
  • Delivers safe, effective patient care, completing assignments timely and showing initiative and teamwork.
  • Obtains informed consents and ensures understanding of procedures and transfusions.
  • Receives and transcribes physician orders accurately, ensuring proper follow-through.
  • Recognizes and responds to patient condition changes, initiating emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Completes assessments and reassessments according to policy.
  • Reports observations accurately and records them properly.
  • Administers medications knowledgeably, adhering to ICU policies.
  • Recognizes and manages arrhythmias such as V-tach, V-fib, PVCs, heart blocks, atrial fibrillation, and flutter.
  • Supervises and evaluates nursing care provided to patients.
  • Follows the seven “rights” of medication administration.
  • Assists with or facilitates special tests and procedures.
  • Utilizes supplies economically and maintains equipment in a safe, clean condition.
  • Participates in orientation and performance evaluations of staff.
  • Supports team members in patient care and provides direct care when needed.
  • Coordinates nursing care during therapies or procedures.
  • Implements emergency measures for adverse developments such as cardiac or respiratory arrest and sepsis.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited RN program.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current state RN license.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications required.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year of training and experience in Critical Care.
