Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a 36-hour night shift in the 38-bed ICU. You will deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires a nursing degree, MA RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least 2 years of RN experience (ICU preferred). BSN preferred; there is support for BSN attainment and professional development.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required with MA RN license (or eligible).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 2 years RN experience in med/surg; ICU experience preferred.
• BSN within 4 years preferred or ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and delegate care to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our 38-bed (28+10) multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Position: Registered Nurse Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Schedule: 36 Hours, Nights

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS/St. Elizabeth’s nursing department
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

EDUCATION

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required
• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years of RN experience required in a med/surg setting ICU experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency

COMPENSATION RANGE

• $39.80- $93.69
• This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
