Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at a Mount Airy, North Carolina hospital. The RN provides critical care to ICU patients with continuous monitoring, ventilator care, and vasoactive titration.

The ideal candidate has strong Medical ICU experience, Cardiac monitoring skills, and the ability to float between ICU and Stepdown units. Nights, 3×12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience.
• Active NC RN license or eligible compact license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Stroke Life Support certifications.
• Experience with Meditech charting and 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill adults in ICU.
• Monitor patients continuously and titrate vasoactive meds.
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and assess changes.

Travel ICU Registered Nurse - Mount Airy, NC | Up to $1,971/Week | Nights.

Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing assignment at a reputable healthcare facility in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Position Overview:

The ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced clinical interventions, and complex medical management.

This position involves caring for patients with respiratory failure, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), gastrointestinal bleeding, congestive heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, and other critical medical conditions.

The ideal candidate will have strong Medical ICU experience, proficiency in cardiac monitoring, ventilator patient care, vasoactive medication titration, and rapid recognition of changes in patient condition.

Nurses must be comfortable working independently, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and floating between ICU and Stepdown units based on patient census and staffing needs.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Mount Airy, NC.
• Weekly Pay: Up to $1,971.
• Start Date: November 16, 2026.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Schedule: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (6:45 PM-7:15 AM).
• Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Weekend Requirement: 12 weekend shifts per contract.
• Floating: Required between ICU and Stepdown units as needed.
• On-Call: None.
• Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience.
• Active North Carolina RN license or eligible compact RN license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Stroke Life Support certifications.
• Meditech charting experience required.
• Experience with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3.
• Medical ICU experience.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKGs.
• Experience administering and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Experience caring for mechanically ventilated patients.
• Knowledge of stroke management, respiratory failure, and critical care interventions.
• Ability to float between ICU and Stepdown units.
• First-time travel nurses may be considered if they meet the required clinical qualifications.
• Unit Highlights.
• 10-bed Medical ICU.
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3.
• Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
• Continuous cardiac, pulse oximetry, temperature, and respiratory monitoring.
• Common diagnoses include DKA, stroke, GI bleeding, respiratory failure, CHF, and pneumonia.
• Self-scheduling based on unit needs.
• 24 hours of unit orientation.
• Black scrubs required.
