Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Hospice Nurse to provide compassionate nursing care to hospice patients. The role includes stepping in as a manager in the Hospice manager's absence and working under supervision to ensure quality care, following hospice care concepts and pain management strategies.

Day shifts are offered. Candidates should hold an active Michigan RN license and have a hospice-focused background. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Hospice certification preferred.
• Knowledge of current pain and symptom management.
• Ability to present a positive image of Hospice to referrals.

Shift: Days

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with the hospice concept of care. Assumes managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Hospice manager. Works under the supervision of the Hospice manager. Over IRS Mileage Reimbursement rate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Hospice certification preferred.
• A working knowledge of current pain and symptom management, and experience appropriate to the needs of hospice patients and their families is preferred.
• Requires interpersonal skills to present a positive image of Hospice to those whom are referred to the program.
• Requires the ability to be flexible in adapting policies and procedures to meet the needs presented by Hospice patients and families.
• Requires a valid driverslicense, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
