Additional Information About the Position for Qualified Candidates
- This position is exclusively assigned to the Cardiothoracic Operating Room.
- No rotation to other surgical specialties is required, but opportunities to assist in other areas are available at your discretion.
- This position offers enhanced call pay along with an additional call incentive bonus.

Job Summary
- The perioperative nurse provides surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during and after surgery. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative patient education, monitoring the patient’s physical and emotional well-being, and integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum. The perioperative nurse promotes teamwork with surgery personnel, surgeons, anesthesia department personnel, and personnel from other departments. The perioperative nurse may provide care for the neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly populations. This perioperative nurse primarily works with cardiothoracic patients but will be required to provide care for other patients too. On Call hours is a requirement of this position.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience
- Preferred: Previous nursing experience
- Required: 6 months OR experience
