Job summary

Mercy seeks a compassionate registered nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process, while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. You will coordinate patient care with other departments and ensure accountability for care provided by the care team.

Applicants must have an RN license in the hiring state or a compact license, graduation from an accredited nursing program (AD, Diploma, or BSN), 1 year of experience, and current life-support certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current RN license in the hiring state or a compact license.
• Life support certification current on hire and within 90 days per Mercy policy.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Experience: 1 year of experience
• Certifications: Life support certification current upon hire and in alignment with Mercy policy no later than 90 days after hire.
• For Med Surg (MS) and Women's and Children's (WC) - BLS
• For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS
• For ED - BLS, ACLS, PALS

Physical requirements/demands:

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
