Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the GI Lab. This full-time role requires day shifts with additional on-call hours evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will apply the nursing process to coordinate patient care with the GI Lab and other departments while upholding patient rights and Mercy standards. Qualified candidates must graduate from an approved nursing program, hold a Missouri RN license (or compact), and maintain BLS;

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program).
• Current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure.
• BLS certification (ACLS as required).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain professional accountability.
• Coordinate patient care with GI Lab and other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information.

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: Days + Additional call hours to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Required Education

Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program).

Licensure

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications

Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required.

• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
