Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is opening a new General Adult Unit in Towson, MD. This in-person RN role requires an active Maryland RN license and offers a 36-hour weekly schedule (7 AM–7 PM) with rotating weekends.

You will provide psychiatric nursing care, multidisciplinary team coordination, family education, and clinical leadership on the unit. The position emphasizes orientation after start, with a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement, medical/dental/vision, a 403b match,

Qualifications

• Must hold current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment and maintain licensure throughout employment.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred, but not required.
• New clinical staff will begin extended orientation/training after first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care per treatment plans.
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other staff.
• Document and report patient progress to the treatment team.

Job description

We are excited to be opening a new unit!

Schedule: 36 hours weekly, 7AM to 7PM with rotating weekends. Type: In Person.

Sheppard Pratt's inpatient units are nationally recognized programs for the treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. The new General Adult Unit provides specialized inpatient treatment for adults 18 and older. The program utilizes an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment approach through individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psycho-educational group therapies.

As a Registered Nurse/RN you will:

• Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
• Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
• Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

Requirements:

• Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
• All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.

What we need from you.

• Must hold current registered nurse (RN) licensure to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment and maintain licensure throughout the duration of employment.
• Candidates residing in a compact state may apply with a multistate license and must obtain a Maryland RN license within 60 days of relocation.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred, but not necessary.

The pay range for this position is $37.08 minimum to $56.83 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
