Job summary

Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV, seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide safe, competent care in accordance with hospital policies and patient care standards. You will lead and support the healthcare team while upholding service excellence.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, NV RN license, BLS, ACLS and/or PALS/NRP certifications, and a willingness to complete a specialty course within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current RN license in Nevada.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS and/or PALS/NRP Certifications required or obtained.
• Pre-employment assessment may be required.

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Job Description

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.

Experience

One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.

License/Certification

Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification (adult patients), current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients). Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department.

Other

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Note: An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. An interim RN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
