Job summary

The Valley Health System's Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a registered nurse to provide safe, competent care in a busy acute care setting. You will lead clinical teams, uphold patient-centered care, and ensure adherence to facility policies and standards.

The role requires a Nevada RN license, BSN preferred, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable; one year of acute care experience or a specialty course completion within 6 months. Pre-employment assessment is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; NCLEX eligible; Nevada RN license.
• BSN preferred; completion of a specialty course within 6 months of hire.
• One year of acute care experience or completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months.
• Current BLS, ACLS for adults, and PALS for pediatrics, or NRP for neonatal patients.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments required by the facility.

Responsibilities

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred.

Experience

One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.

License/Certification

Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification (adult patients), current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients). Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department.

Other

Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Note

An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. An interim RN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
