Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe is seeking Registered Nurses to join our team. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care for adults and geriatrics in an 82-bed psych facility in Monroe/West Monroe, LA.

The RN will deliver quality care, handle admissions/discharges, administer medications, manage crisis situations, and maintain clinical records in a HIPAA-compliant environment. Expect 12-hour shifts with a 2/3 split schedule and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Possesses current Unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nurse license.
• RN Degree, BS preferred.
• Psychiatric Nursing Experience preferred.
• Updated resumes with work history required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care through assessments, admissions, discharges and medication administration.
• Monitor symptoms and document patient progress and changes.
• Complete daily shift notes and maintain chart accuracy.
• Facilitate groups and activities on the unit.
• Intervene in acute crisis situations and provide crisis management.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and agency policies.
• Record and monitor labs and tests as required.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-time - 12-hour shifts - 2/3 split schedule

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe is currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our team. As a valued member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients.

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe/West Monroe is an 82 bed, acute adult/geriatric psych facility. The hospital delivers a comprehensive range of care, including both inpatient and outpatient treatment options, designed to support the unique needs of older adults.

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality individual care through the nursing process of risk assessment, admissions, discharges, administering medication, unit management, and crisis management.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete all admission and discharge paperwork including nursing assessments on individuals with mental health/substance abuse symptoms exhibiting a state of crisis and needs with development of nursing care plans
• Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in individuals' conditions by observation using proper nursing care and document individual progress or lack thereof
• Complete required daily shift notes for all individuals
• Ensure all chart checks, assessments, vitals are completed, and all required logs are updated on the shift
• Complete daily assignment sheet
• Facilitate groups and activities on the unit with the individuals
• Intervene, stabilize and manage acute crisis situations as needed
• Assist in training co-staff in areas relating to service specialties as needed
• Maintain confidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA policies.
• Demonstrate competency for Blood Glucose Monitoring, Alcohol Breathalyzer, Urine Drug Screen, Pregnancy Test, and PPD skin tests
• Monitor and document all ordered labs, screenings, and results such as PPD, Blood Glucose, UA, RPR, Blood Chem, and CBC
• Assist with seclusions and restraints when necessary and complete all required paperwork (i.e. seclusion/restraint packets and incident reports by the end of the shift)
• Maintain clinical records in accordance with agency policies.
