The IU West Hospital Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology department offers access to lifesaving treatments, advanced technology, and research-based medicine. The team cares for adult patients using teamwork, critical thinking, and quick interventions. The RN provides hands-on care for patients undergoing diagnostic heart caths, interventional cardiac caths, electrophysiology procedures, and Interventional Radiology procedures. Nurses in the cath lab can utilize their skills to make an immediate impact on patients’ lives.

This position is referral eligible!

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

• Care for patients undergoing procedures like heart catheterization, cardiac ablations, STEMI, IR procedures, pacemaker and AICD implantation
• Use of cutting-edge technology
• Critical thinking
• Time management
• Patient education

Unit Successes/Designations:

• One of the busiest STEMI programs in the IU Health System
• The only 24/7 STEMI program in Hendricks County

Qualifications:

• An ASN required; BSN preferred
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support certification through AHA
• Additional Life Support certifications may be required based on unit/department policies
