The IU West Hospital Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology department provides patients with access to lifesaving treatments, advanced technology, and research-based medicine. The team cares for adult patients using teamwork, critical thinking, and quick interventions. The RN provides hands-on care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures such as heart caths, electrophysiology procedures, and interventional radiology treatments. Nurses in the cath lab can leverage their skills to make an immediate impact on patients' lives.
This position is referral eligible!
Nursing Skills Gained on This Unit:
- Care for patients undergoing procedures like heart catheterization, cardiac ablations, STEMI, IR procedures, pacemaker and AICD implantations
- Use of cutting-edge technology
- Critical thinking and quick decision-making
- Time management
- Patient education
Unit Successes/Designations:
- One of the busiest STEMI programs in the IU Health System
- The only 24/7 STEMI program in Hendricks County

Qualifications:
- Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active RN license in Indiana or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit needs
