Job summary

Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Las Vegas seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its clinical team in a behavioral health setting. You will deliver direct patient care, perform psychiatric assessments, and respond to crises to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include administering medications, collaborating with psychiatrists and therapists, and documenting care in electronic records. Nevada RN licensure and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Minimum one year behavioral health experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Our behavioral healthcare hospital provides compassionate, psychiatric and mental health care to adolescent and adult patients. We are looking for a dedicated, flexible Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

As Registered Nurse, you will deliver direct patient care, perform psychiatric nursing assessments, and respond immediately to behavioral crises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete comprehensive physical and psychiatric nursing assessments.
• Administer medications and document patient responses accurately.
• Monitor patient safety, utilize de-escalation techniques, and respond effectively to behavioral or medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Maintain complete, accurate electronic medical records in compliance with mental health laws and regulations.
• Perform suicide assessments and understand suicide precautions.
• Identify and incorporate each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive and individualized care plan.
• Rounds on patients, ensuring patient care and an environment that optimizes patient safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medication management to ensure patient care and reduce the likelihood of medical/health errors.
• Day shift (7:00am-7:30pm)

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Minimum one (1) year behavioral health experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to stabilize acute psychotic and non-violent crisis by using accepted intervention techniques.
