Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff while shaping clinical practices and improving patient outcomes. You will partner with the CNO and play a key role in budget planning and resource allocation.

The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a passion for developing nursing talent within a behavioral health setting. Nevada RN licensure is required, with a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nevada required.
• Minimum one (1) year of direct psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Minimum three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience, ideally in behavioral healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Mentor and coach nursing supervisors and staff, fostering professional growth and clinical excellence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care plans and outcomes.
• Monitor staffing levels, manage scheduling, and support recruitment and retention efforts.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction scores and clinical performance metrics.
• Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to optimize care delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing BSN strongly preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of direct psychiatric nursing experience required
• Minimum three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience, ideally in behavioral healthcare settings
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in nursing care
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
• A passion for mentoring and developing nursing talent
• Ability to stabilize acute psychotic and non-violent crisis' by using accepted intervention techniques
