Job summary

HCA HealthONE Rose is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Freestanding Emergency Room at Central Park in Denver, CO. The RN coordinates high-quality, patient-centered care within the ER, collaborating with physicians and the care team to support outcomes.

The role requires state RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, NRP, and within-6-month ENPC/TNCC credentials; BSN preferred and at least two years ER experience.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification.
• Current NRP certification.
• TNCC and ENPC required within 6 months of hire.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Two or more years of Emergency Room RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; documents care in the patient record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures; translates medical terminology as needed.
• Educates patients on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALSCertification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current NRP certificationthrough AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics)
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course)requiredwithin6monthsof hire date.(Note: ENPC is onlyrequiredforinitialcertification time and is nostrequiredfor renewal)
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.BSN preferred
• Two or more years of Emergency Room Registered Nurse experience
