Job summary

The Bremerton Free-standing ED at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a fast paced ED team. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer meds, and execute individualized care plans to support patient recovery and safety.

Ideal candidates bring recent ED or critical care experience, active WA RN license, and current CPR/BLS with ACLS/PALS readiness. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential in this high-energy setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active WA State RN license and current CPR/BLS completion.
• ACLS and PALS or equivalent required within 60 days/months of hire.
• ED or critical care experience within last 2 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with urgent medical needs in a fast-paced ED.
• Administer medications and monitor responses per physician orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to formulate care plans.
• Document care interventions accurately in the EMR.
• Maintain readiness for critical events and rapid response.
• Ensure adherence to safety, risk, and regulatory standards.

• Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
• Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
• Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs.
• Gathers data relevant for patient care.
• Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes.

• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 12 - months

Preferred

• Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire and
