Job summary

Catholic Health Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with 0.92 FTE. The RN provides daily nursing care, coordinates patient care, and teaches patients and families. Requires NYS RN license and BLS; ACLS preferred within 1 year of hire.

BSN is preferred. Experience in med/surgical area is desirable. The role involves collaboration with the health care team to maintain high standards and participate in quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN program is required.
• NYS license as a Professional Registered Nurse is required.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification preferred or within 1 year of hire.
• BSN is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in basic computer activities and patient data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily nursing care in alignment with policies and standards.
• Coordinate patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and health maintenance guidance.
• Demonstrate leadership by collaborating with the health care team and upholding professional practice standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives within the unit.

Summary:
JOB SUMMARY: The registered nurse is a designated professional nurse who provides daily nursing care to patients following established policies, procedures, and standards of practice. The RN coordinates patient care through assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation. The RN participates in patient and family teaching. The RN provides leadership by working cooperatively with health care team members and maintaining standards for professional practice in the clinical setting. The RN supports high quality care through participation and implementation of quality initiatives.
Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program
• BSN Preferred
• Current New York State registration as a Professional Registered Nurse
• Current BLS validation
• ACLS certification validation and/or within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Experience

• One (1) Year med/Surgical experience preferred
