Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Floating Rapid Response Team in Hackensack, NJ. This full-time, night-shift position involves direct patient care, data collection, and coordinating with physicians and support services.

The role requires an RN license in NJ, an associate degree or diploma, and BSN in progress or commitment to obtain within 3 years. BLS/CPR must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing or diploma required.
• BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Initiate interventions related to patient’s change in condition.
• Adhere to American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.
