Job summary

Huntington Health in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12‑hour night shift in the RN, PCA Float Pool. You will coordinate patient care across the continuum, supervise care delivery, and participate in discharge planning while Advocating for patients and families.

Requirements include a BSN (ADN considered if enrolled in BSN), active CA BRN RN license, BLS and ACLS, and 1 year of acute care experience (2 years preferred). PCCN or related certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSN required; ADN considered if enrolled in BSN program with degree completion within 2 years.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience; 2 years preferred.
• Must pass Basic Dysrhythmia course within 21 days of hire.
• Current unrestricted RN license issued by CA BRN.
• BLS and ACLS required by American Heart Association.
• PCCN or related certification preferred.

Job description

Expectations

Responsible for coordination of care to meet identified needs of the patient/family. Supervises the management of patient care utilizing critical thinking and nursing process, discharge planning, resource identification, linking and scheduling patients with required services, monitoring care delivery, advocating for the patient, care planning and evaluating outcomes. Coordinates patient care across the health care continuum and assists other team members with meeting individual patient needs. This position may require flexibility of hours.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts of the highest degree earned required.

Experience / Training

Minimum 1 year of current experience in an acute care area of expertise or equivalent service area; 2 years preferred.

Must challenge and successfully pass the Basic Dysrhythmia course curriculum within 21 days of hire.

Licenses / Certifications

Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required.

Required

Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).

Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred

Current Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) or related certification.

• Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $47.88 - $74.20 per shift.

Pay Structure

• Base rate paid for the first 8 hours of work in a day.
• 1.5x overtime pay for hours 8–12 worked in a workday.
• 2x double‑time pay for any hours beyond 12 in a workday.

This ensures employees are fairly compensated for the full length of their shift, with enhanced pay as the workday progresses. The estimated blended hourly rate for a 12‑hour shift, accounting for these premiums, ranges from $55.86 to $86.57.
