Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Care Float Pool. You will deliver high-quality, efficient care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care units, supporting a team that values patient-centered practice and cross-training.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and prior acute care experience. A BSN is preferred, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits at a renowned Level II trauma center.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Prior acute care experience strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS required.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS required (6-month grace period).
• Current NIHSS required (6-month grace period).
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records, including tests and results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Care Float Pool. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality, efficient care in our medical-surgical & telemetry/progressive care environments. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the care of Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care level patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If a compact license is held, an active FL RN license is required within 60days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required (6-month grace period given from hire date).
• Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required (6 months grace period given from hire date).
• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383 bed hospital. We are located in Bradenton, FL. We have a thirteen acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons.
