Job summary

ProMedica's Bay Park Hospital in the Surgery department is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant to serve as the primary clinician within the surgical/medical plan. You will start, implement and evaluate the nursing plan of care for selected patients.

You will assess patient status to anticipate changes and respond to clinical developments, and take appropriate action in critical situations. This role supports the surgical team and patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• Education: Completed the course to prepare the RN as a first assistant in surgery.
• Skills: Ability to differentiate colors and operate hospital computer systems.
• Experience: At least 2 years of intraoperative clinical experience.
• Licensing: Current RN licensure in the hiring state.
• Certification: CPR certified; CNOR certification required.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse First Assistant is a clinician and a role model. You serve as the primary clinician with specific patients in combination with the surgical/medical plan. You are responsible for beginning, implementing, and evaluating a nursing plan of care.

In this role, you will assess a patient's status to anticipate and respond to clinical changes as well as recognize and take appropriate action in critical situations.

Requirements

• Education: Successfully completed a course in preparing the registered nurse as a first assistant in surgery.
• Skills: Must be able to differentiate colors. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
• Years of Experience: 2 years of intraoperative clinical experience.
• License: Current RN licensure in the state in which you are hired.
• Certification: CPR certified. Current specialty certification required (CNOR) issued by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing (CBPN).

Preferred Requirements

• Education : bachelors degree in nursing
