Job summary

Universal Health Services' West Henderson Hospital in the Las Vegas area is seeking a Specialized Registered Nurse to support the surgical team in the Operating Room and similar settings, assisting the surgeon with intraoperative tasks beyond standard RN scope and ensuring patient safety.

Candidates should have an Associates Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), minimum two years perioperative nursing experience, and CNOR/CRNFA certifications; CRNFA must be obtained within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized RN assistance to the surgical team in the Operating Room and similar settings.

  • Collaborate with the surgeon and team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Comply with state laws and nursing practice acts; RNFA scope may not replace scrub nurse duties.

Responsibilities

West Henderson Hospital is our seventh acute care hospital in The Valley Health System. It is located at the southwest corner of Raiders Parkway and St. Rose Parkway, near the Las Vegas Raiders' headquarters. The 150-bed hospital is equipped to care for patients with a variety of medical needs. Services available include emergency care, cardiac care, neurology care, surgery, gastroenterology and inpatient care for medical needs such as pneumonia. Hospital services include:



  • Emergency care, 24/7

  • Advanced cardiac services, including cardiac catheterization labs

  • Interventional radiology lab for diagnosis and treatment of other medical conditions

Job Description:

Services as a Specialized Registered Nurse who provides the surgical team with assistance within the Operating Room and other similar settings. Assists the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. Functions interdependently with the surgeon and applies knowledge, skill, and judgement necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient. functions with the state laws regarding surgical assisting and the state nursing practice act. The Certified RNFA does not concurrently function as the scrub nurse.


Qualifications

Shift: FULL TIME VARIED


Education:


Minimum: Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred. Nurses without a BSN may be grandfathered into this job if current with both CNOR and CRNFA certifications.


Experience: Minimum of two (2) years perioperative nursing.


License/Certification: CNOR and CRNFA


Other:


CRNFA must be obtained within 2 years, if not present on hire.
