Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow (RN) for the Acute Care Telemetry/Neuro Unit. This full-time night-shift position runs 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

with weekend and holiday rotations and offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible nurses. Known for world-class care, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital's unit focuses on cardiac, neuro, and heart failure patients within a 32-bed telemetry setting, including stroke care admissions.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN from an accredited program.
• ADN holders must meet with nurse leader within 2 years and develop a BSN completion plan.
• 1 year of RN experience in critical care or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• BLS & ACLS certification; Virginia RN licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets.
• Forms individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and trends.
• Delivers care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides counsel to resolve issues.
• Coordinates care and transitions with other disciplines.
• Documents all patient care activities per standards.
• Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes and revises plans accordingly.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience and patient data while developing team decision making.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Acute Care Telemetry/Neuro Unit is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow (RN). This role will be full-time, night shift 3-12 hour shifts (days vary); 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.; weekend + holiday rotations. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for eligible nurses.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital's Acute Care Unit is level 4, specializing in cardiac, neuro and heart failure patients. The Acute Care Unit is a 32 bed, semi-private telemetry unit and is one of the two inpatient units that admit stroke patients.

Registered Nurse Fellow (RN) - Acute Care Telemetry/Neuro Unit Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education : BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Experience : 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Certification/Licensure : BLS & ACLS from American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
