Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER Pool Nights at Bartow Regional Medical Center. You will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency department, using the nursing process and collaborating with the care team.

You will maintain patient comfort and safety, monitor vitals, respond to emergencies, and participate in care planning with patients and families. This full-time, in-person role includes occasional weekend shifts and a nights schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Degree in nursing (Diploma/ASN/BSN or higher) required
• 2 years ED experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Professional accountability and development

• Status: Pool
• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Occasional weekend commitment
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 2-year experience in the emergency department
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
