The successful candidate:

  • Provide direct, compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting, including triaging, assessing, and prioritizing care needs.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans and interventions.
  • Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide treatment in alignment with department protocols and patient needs.
  • Manage complex patient situations, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist in life-saving procedures such as CPR, and other emergency protocols.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and maintain high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and professional development activities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for providing excellent, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Emergency Department or critical care experience.
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
