Job summary

Fountain Hills Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Registered Nurse for full-time or PRN shifts in Fountain Hills, AZ. Our brand-new micro-hospital features 8 ER beds and 5 in-patient beds with imaging and lab capabilities.

Provide high-quality ER care, assess and monitor patients, administer treatments, and collaborate with physicians. This role emphasizes teamwork, patient-family centered care, and professional autonomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• AZ RN License required; BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Observes patient and notifies supervisor of significant changes.
• Takes vital signs and monitors patient conditions.
• Responds to life saving situations per policy and protocol.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments.
• Initiates patient education plans as prescribed.
• May rotate among obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry.

Job Title: Emergency Registered Nurse FT/ PRN Days or Nights available

Fountain Hills Medical Center is a brand new Micro Hospital set to open early 2021 in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona. Summary:

Provides general ER nursing care to patients in emergency room facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
• Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction.
• May rotate among various clinical services of institution such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgery.
• Assists in procedures by handing items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner.
• Makes beds, bathes and feeds patients.
• Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
• Performs in a professional positive manner. Able to provide exceptional customer service.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical regulations, reports, journals and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the community.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Able to calculate drip rates.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
