Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit in West Grove, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Student Services division at the Engle Education Center. The role provides nursing care in a school setting and supports students with health plans.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree or RN program completion, current CPR/First Aid certification, and relevant experience with special needs students. Clearances must be dated within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or RN program completed.
• Experience with special needs children preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Clearances (police, child abuse, FBI) dated within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer tube feedings.
• Administer medications as prescribed daily.
• Document prescription medication administration in EMR.
• Implement seizure precautions and treatments.
• Attend field trips and community-based trips.
• Provide tracheostomy care and tube replacement if needed.
• Support with toileting routines in the nurse's office.
• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries/illnesses.
• Implement nursing care plans as prescribed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer tube feedings.


• Administer medications as prescribed by a doctor on a daily basis.


• Documentation of prescription medication administration to students in electronic medical system.


• Implement seizure precautions and treatments.


• Attend field trips and community-based trips.


• Provide tracheostomy care and, if needed, replacement of tracheostomy tube.


• Support with toileting routines in the nurse's office.


• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.


• Implement nursing care plans as prescribed.


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing OR RN program completed required


• Experience working with special needs children preferred.


• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.


• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required (must be dated within one year of hire date).

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day; 185 days per year
