Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse to support endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety and quality care within our values-driven team.

You will collaborate with providers and nursing staff, place IVs, assist with equipment setup and infection control, document per policy, and communicate discharge instructions while upholding our Service Standards.

Qualifications

• NM State Nursing Licensing and BLS Certification are required.
• CGRN ACLS Certification is preferred within six months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with providers and other nursing departments to maintain continuity of patient throughput.
• Utilizes assessment skills to provide patient safety during pre, intra and post procedure.
• Places IV access and completes prerequisite medical interventions as ordered by the provider.
• Assists with the setting up and cleaning of equipment adhering to all infection control practices.
• Documents accurately and efficiently per policy.
• Clearly communicate discharge instructions to patients and caregiver.
• Each employee implements SJRMC’s Service Standards: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with providers and other nursing departments to maintain continuity of patient throughput
• Utilizes assessment skills to provide patient safety during pre, intra and post procedure
• Places IV access and completes prerequisite medical interventions as ordered by the provider
• Assists with the setting up and cleaning of equipment adhering to all infection control practices
• Handles specimen according to laboratory process (i.e. pathology, histology, cytology, microbiology solutions)
• Documents accurately and efficiently per policy
• Clearly communicate discharge instructions to patients and caregiver
• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

Recognize that potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or hazardous materials, x-ray, noxious/irritating fumes, long hours, and unforeseen conditions that might generate stress may be encountered Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance Must be able to walk, stand, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequently Recognize that physical demands such as extensive walking, standing, lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring of patients may be required Responsible for on-call duties as assigned by GI Lab Manager
