Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center seeks an Endoscopy RN to support patient care during endoscopic procedures. You will anticipate and facilitate procedures, applying clinical expertise to ensure safe, effective patient care.

The role requires NM State Nursing Licensing and BLS; preferred CGRN or ACLS within six months. You will collaborate with providers and nursing teams, perform IV access, prep equipment, and ensure infection control standards.

Qualifications

• NM State Nursing Licensing required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Experience in endoscopy or perioperative nursing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works with providers and nursing departments to maintain continuity of patient throughput.
• Provides patient safety during pre, intra and post procedure.
• Places IV access and completes prerequisite medical interventions as ordered by the provider.
• Assists with setup and cleaning of equipment per infection control practices.
• Handles specimens according to laboratory processes (pathology, histology, cytology, microbiology).
• Documents accurately and efficiently per policy.
• Clearly communicate discharge instructions to patients and caregiver.
• On-call duties as assigned by GI Lab Manager.

Required Qualifications:

NM State Nursing Licensing BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

CGRN ACLS Certification - within six (6) months of hire/transfer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for on-call duties as assigned by GI Lab Manager.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

Recognize that potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or hazardous materials, x-ray, noxious/irritating fumes, long hours, and unforeseen conditions that might generate stress may be encountered. Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance. Must be able to walk, stand, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently. Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequently. Recognize that physical demands such as extensive walking, standing, lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring of patients may be required.
