Registered Nurse - Endoscopy - Per Diem - Day - Mount Sinai Queens
Join Mount Sinai Queens as a Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy Department. The Clinical Nurse provides safe, competent, high-quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of care and professional practice in collaboration with the healthcare team, adhering to institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment in management decisions.
- Provide direct, continuous care for a caseload of patients, utilizing the nursing process based on research and standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, discharge planning, and delegation to team members.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement, research activities, and utilize findings in practice.
- Contribute to improving care quality through assessment and measurement of care processes and outcomes.
- Maintain responsibility and accountability for safe and competent nursing practice.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate on care planning with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Manage discharge planning from admission to transfer or discharge, including follow-up calls.
- Perform charge responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain clinical competence and pursue professional growth.
- Serve as a role model and preceptor for students and new staff.
- Support the mission and standards of the institution and department.
- Participate in risk management and safety initiatives.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for new graduates and experienced nurses; Associate Degree or Diploma considered for specialized areas.
- Experience: Current enrollment in a BSN program with graduation within one year preferred; relevant clinical experience required.
- License/Certification: Valid RN license from DOH, BLS, NRP (Labor & Delivery, NICU), ACLS (various units), PALS (pediatric units).

Compensation
The hourly salary range is $71.29, depending on experience and qualifications. This does not include bonuses or additional benefits.
