Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy Unit. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate total nursing care for assigned patients, using critical thinking and strong communication.

You will administer Moderate Sedation, support monitored anesthesia care and participate in anesthesia cases. This role requires teamwork with a multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes at a level II trauma center.

Qualificações

• Nursing degree at Bachelors or Associates preferred; Nursing Diploma acceptable.
• High School Diploma or GED required only if Nursing Diploma graduate.
• Current Virginia RN license and CPR/BLS; ACLS within 180 days.

The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Endoscopy Unit (Riverside Gastroenterology Specialist – Newport News, HSC Gastroenterology, and RRMC) and other roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Must effectively administer Moderate Sedation, ensure patient safety during monitored anesthesia care, and circulate during general anesthesia cases. Performs emergent and advanced endoscopy at a level II trauma center. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with needs of the specific patient populations, including critical care patients, served in the Endoscopy Unit. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures.
