Salary Range: $31.86 To $44.39 Hourly
Registered Nurse Endoscopy and Surgery
SURGERY/ENDOSCOPY RN MAIN FUNCTION:
Responsible for circulating and scrubbing on endoscopy and surgical procedures, which includes caring for and meeting the endoscopy and surgical patient's needs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Cleans and checks scopes and instruments according to procedures.
- Assist physician with Endoscopy procedures and Surgical cases.
- Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective action.
- Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ability to translate it into patient care.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Department Director, Clinical Manager, Charge Nurses
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- Active license in the State of Ohio
- Maintain a current AHA (American Heart Association) Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS card
Must be able to respond to the hospital within 30 MINUTES
or be willing to stay on site while on call.
GENERAL RN MAIN FUNCTION:
Provides nursing care to patients in an efficient, professional, compassionate, and caring manner.
Directs the activities of paraprofessionals as they provide care. Responsible for assuring effective .
communication with patients, support persons and members of the healthcare team. Responsible for
implementing nursing care of assigned patients via the Nursing Process including assessment,
diagnosis , planning, implementation, and evaluation. Acts in compliance with hospital, Nursing Department policies/procedures and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Ohio. Follows WCH
Nursing Philosophy and practice model which are derived from the Synergy model and appropriate service standards as outlined in Employee Handbook.
Operations
- Maintains appropriate clinical skills:
- Administers care according to WCH/unit policy/procedure, current standards of care and OhioNurse Practice Act.
- Performs assessments/reassessments and documentation relevant to patient's condition,needsand age, per nursing documentation guidelines. Communicates changes in patientcondition to physician in timely manner and suggests possible interventions and course of care as appropriate in a collaborative manner.
- Initiates,evaluates,and reviews plan of care.
- Providesage-appropriatehealth teaching related to diagnosis,identifiedpatient/family needsand medication, using available teaching resources and assuring patient familyunderstanding by teach back.
- Correctlydemonstratesuse of CPOE( Computer Physician Order Entry)
- Demonstrates knowledge of drug purpose and effectiveness as related todiagnosis.
- Follows 6 rights of medicationadministration.
- Demonstrates appropriate/safe medication handling/administration.
- Reassesses and documents effectiveness ofmedication.
- Assures team members huddle and round on patients to :
- Evaluate the environment to assure safety & infection control standards aremet.
- Evaluate the care provided to assure it is based on practice standards andevidence-based practice.
- Evaluate the educational plan and itsimplementation, assessing for and addressing gaps in care.
- Evaluate for any additional /alternative care needs, and patient/familysatisfaction.
- Evaluate adherence to nursing practice standards of care and documentation of care by thenurse and teammembers.
- Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity. Able to multitask and prioritize workload.Work habits are consistently adjusted to accommodate multiple responsibilities and are prioritizedand completedin a timely manner.
