Located at University Hospital, endoscopy is a 6-bed unit where the RN will circulate and assist physicians with endoscopy procedures. The nurses on this unit see patients with GI issues from their mouth to their bottom or lung problems. We work up pre-transplant patients, treat esophageal and gastric varices, GI bleeds, esophageal and colonic stents, diagnose cancers with endoscopic ultrasounds, perform all biliary and pancreatic ERCPs, and many advanced interventional GI procedures (POEM, ESD, EMR). We diagnose many lung cancers with the advanced navigational ION robot, EBUS, as well as perform all bronchoscopies.
