Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. Join a rural, 20-bed unit delivering patient-centered emergency care, with a fast-paced, team-oriented culture and self-scheduling.

The role supports care across a wide acuity range, collaborating with providers and inpatient teams to ensure timely assessment, treatment, stabilization and transition of care. Commitment bonuses are available for experienced and new-grad RNs.

Qualifications

• RN license to practice in NC (or multi-state).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provide age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Complete timely documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

Job description

This position is eligible for a commitment bonus! $20,000 for experienced RNs, and $10,000 for new graduate RNs.

Schedule: 3 x 12 hr. shifts per week on the Mid Shift (12p - 12a) + rotating weekends

Our Emergency Department is a rural, 20-bed unit serving Rutherford County and surrounding communities with responsive, patient-centered emergency care. This is a great environment for an ED nurse who enjoys variety, critical thinking, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community hospital setting. Nurses care for patients across a wide range of acuity levels and work closely with providers, ancillary departments, and inpatient teams to support timely assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transition of care. What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi‑state (compact) license).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• One year of RN experience as an Emergency Department RN required.
