Reports to: Director of Emergency Department.

FLSA: Non-exempt.

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.

License: Current RN license to practice in the state of TX.

Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS; NIHSS within 90 days of hire.

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required.

Essential Functions: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care. Evaluates learning needs and provides education. Acts as an advocate for patient well-being.
