Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana is seeking a dedicated Emergency Room nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ER setting. The role emphasizes safety, compassionate communication, and teamwork across the care continuum.

You will prioritize care touchpoints, monitor patient conditions, and educate patients and families while adhering to infection control standards and continuity of care expectations.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license per state board.
• BLS required; ACLS, CPI, and PALS due within 6 months.
• TNCC required for CHNOLA/UMC ERs.
• ENPC may substitute for PALS at certain ERs.
• ER nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent patient care and communication.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team during significant events or condition changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care and exceptional patient experience.
• Advise supervisor when unable to complete tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Your Everyday

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services. Address patient questions and concerns.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

The Must-Haves

• Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications. (New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)
• ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Preferred

• Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge
• 2 + years of experience as an RN in the ER
