Full Time, Regular, Evenings, 10:30 am - 11:00 pm

Job Summary

Treat actual or potential health problems using nursing diagnosis and case management. Teach, counsel, and provide supportive care to patients and their significant others.

Essential Functions

1. Interview patients (if possible) and/or family to obtain required history and make an accurate assessment.
2. Assign triage priority based on observations and available information.
3. Initiate diagnostic and therapeutic measures as indicated by standing protocols.
4. Call for crisis intervention if appropriate.
5. Communicate and act as liaison between the patient, family, and health professionals, respecting confidentiality and dignity.
6. Coordinate the needs of the patient with supporting departments and assist in solving problems related to patient and staff welfare.
7. Chart concisely, descriptively, and legibly, indicating patient progress or lack thereof.
8. Perform nursing procedures safely and efficiently.
9. Demonstrate understanding of, and adhere to, the hospital’s infection control protocols.
10. Ensure compliance with existing standards and policies.

Minimum Education/Certifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Current RN license to practice in NJ.

Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS. IV Certification is preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting; critical care experience preferred.
