Job summary

Henry Ford Health's Genesys Hospital Emergency Department in Grand Blanc, MI seeks a Registered Nurse - Emergency to deliver patient-centered care in a 47-bed unit with trauma capabilities and stroke/cardiac care expertise.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, assess and implement nursing plans, administer medications and IV therapy, monitor responses, and support safe discharge planning, under a commitment to exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN credentialed from Michigan Board of Nursing.
• BLS Provider certification from American Heart Association within 3 months of hire date.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans to ensure appropriate length of stay and outcomes.
• Provide patient education and support to address fears and anxiety.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform dressing changes and glucose monitoring.
• Monitor patient responses and intervene for acute changes in condition.
• Collaborate with case managers to ensure safe discharge planning and follow-up.

Emergency Unit at Genesys is a Trauma Level 111. This is a 47 bed unit with an additional 10 bed overflow. 2 dedicated trauma bays. This unit excels in stroke & cardiac care.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 months of hire date.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date.
• Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or a related clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
