Job summary

Montrose Regional Health in Montrose, CO seeks an Emergency Department Nurse to deliver age-appropriate emergent and non-emergent nursing care. You will support triage, assist physicians, and coordinate patient care in a Level III Trauma Center open 24 hours.

The role requires current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain compact license, BLS on hire, and a Bachelor’s/Associates/Diploma in Nursing. Mentoring is offered with a 15% per diem rate and sick time.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s, Associate, or Diploma in Nursing.
• Current Colorado RN license or compact state license eligibility.
• BLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate emergent and non-emergent nursing care in the ED.
• Prioritize patient needs, triage, and anticipate physician needs.
• Assist physicians in resuscitation and care coordination.
• Support patients, families and the health care team during crises.

About The Emergency Department

• The Emergency Department at Montrose Regional Health is a Level III Trauma Center staffed 24 hours per day by Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and RNs who are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and in Trauma Care.

About The Career

• The Emergency Department Nurse is responsible for providing age appropriate emergent and non-emergent nursing care to all patients in the emergency department. The Emergency Department Nurse must be able to function independently or as a member of a team to meet the needs of the patient. The Emergency Department Nurse must possess advanced knowledge and skills in the treatment of pediatric patients, trauma patients, critically ill or injured patients, and assist the physician in all forms of medical resuscitation. The Emergency Department Nurse needs to be able to prioritize patients' care and anticipate the needs of patients. The Emergency Department Nurse must possess advanced assessment skills and triage skills. As a member of the health care team, serves to meet the needs of the patient, their family and other members of the community by providing quality nursing care and emotional or spiritual support in times of crisis.
