Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks experienced Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department team in Wilmington, Delaware. This Level III Trauma, 27-bed unit cares for a diverse patient population and is the state’s first geriatric-certified ED.

Full-time night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with every third weekend and rotating holidays are available. We value work-life balance, professional growth, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN nursing degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Delaware.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Assists emergent patients and documents accordingly on ER nursing tools.
• Identifies patient needs from objective data and follows through with documentation.
• Implements nursing actions tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Makes decisions reflecting knowledge and sound judgment.
• Discusses with patient and/or family about planned care and expected outcomes and documents the discussion.
• Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to deliver patient care.

Education

ASN/ADN required; BSN preferred

Delaware RN licensure

BLS/ACLS certification; PALS within 6 months

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team in our Emergency Department!

Unit & Community

Serving Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Emergency Department at Saint Francis Hospital is a Level III Trauma, 27-bed unit. We care for various types of patients and are the first and only Geriatric certified Emergency Department in Delaware.

Employment Details

Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift. Employment Type: Full-time Night Shift (7:00 pm - 7:30 am) / Every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Assist the emergent patient and documents accordingly on Emergency Room nursing tool.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient an/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• ASN required, BSN preferred, from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware
• Previous ER and/or Acute Care experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required; must obtain PALS within 6 months of employment
