Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Registered Nurse for a float registry position based in Lake Geneva, WI. The role requires 12-hour shifts and a minimum 48 hours per month with weekend commitments, plus occasional summer and winter holidays. You may float to other ED locations within the system as licensed for WI/IL.

Candidates should be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN is required with BSN preferred. CPR/BLS must be current within 90 days, and additional unit certifications may apply.

OVERVIEWThe Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, individualized patient care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team.SCHEDULE: This is a float registry position with a minimum commitment of 48-hours per month, including a minimum of two weekend shifts per month, plus one summer and one winter holiday. This commitment will add a 10% wage incentive to the calculated hourly rate of pay. This position will be primarily set for this location in Lake Geneva, WI. You must be able and willing to float to other ED locations within the system as licensed for WI/IL.SHIFT: Variable, typically 12-hour shiftsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.Documents according to standards of care.Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)CERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements.
