HealthPartners in Minnesota is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Center team. The RN will manage patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and other providers to deliver safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced ED.

The Emergency Center is a 42-bed Level III trauma center open 24/7, with board-certified physicians and skilled nursing staff. The role requires critical thinking, multitasking, and coordination across teams. BSN preferred; MN RN license required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree program in Nursing. BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License and current NJ? (note: as per HTML, replace with Minnesota RN License)
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manages the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, families, groups and other providers.
• Direct care or coordination/supervision of care delegated to Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed personnel.
• Ensure safe, patient-centered care in the Emergency Center with attention to fast-paced multitasking and prioritization.
• Collaborate with Emergency Physicians and nursing staff in a 42-bed Level III trauma center.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel. Safe, patient-centered care is the highest priority in the Emergency department. Candidate should enjoy fast paced work environment and possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking and prioritization skills.

The Emergency Center is a 42-bed level III trauma center that serves all patient populations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Emergency Center includes a triage area used to determine the severity of a patient’s medical condition; state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment; leading-edge medications and techniques to stop heart attacks and strokes before they cause permanent damage; radio communication systems linking Methodist Hospital’s Emergency Center to helicopter and ambulance services across Minnesota. The top two presenting chief complaints are abdominal pain and chest pain. Services are provided by board certified Emergency Physicians and specially trained nursing staff and technicians.

Work Schedule:

0.75 Nights position, every 3rd weekend

Required Qualifications

• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Intensive care/Cardiac Step-Down Telemetry experience recommended; Emergency Center experience preferred. BSN, or currently enrolled in BSN program encouraged.
