Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital Mountain Point in Lehi, Utah is seeking a Registered Nurse to promote optimal patient health and safety through compassionate, outcome-focused care. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to apply the nursing process and uphold the State Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
  • RN License in state of employment.
  • Physical requirements: Medium work, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • One year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs; evaluate and intervene for optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care; observe outcomes with interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain patient charts and records; document interventions and outcomes timely; use IT to communicate and support decisions.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect patient health and safety and rights.
  • Provide patient/family education; assess learning readiness and evaluate teaching effectiveness.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to apply the nursing process effectively within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV's, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

The Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital - Mountain Point has a welcoming culture that focuses on teamwork and synergy. We are a level III trauma facility with 14 beds, and a current 4:1 nurse to patient ratio. We see a diverse mix of all ages that allows us to utilize our holistic nursing skills through all the care we give. We service a diverse community of 9 municipalities and 10 EMS agencies. We see an average of 41 patients per day with a pediatric population of 24%. EMS accounts for 13% of our overall visits.
