Job summary

Alvin ISD seeks a licensed nurse to lead a campus health services program, promote student health and safety, provide case management, and collaborate with staff and families to build capacity for learning and self-management.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold a Texas RN license, maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and possess screening credentials for vision, hearing, and diabetes risk assessment.

Implement a comprehensive program of health services for the campus. Promote health and safety; provide case management; and collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
• Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
• CPR/ AED/First Aid certification
• Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
• Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment screening certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to implement policies and procedures
• Maintaining electronic health records

Experience

• Preferably Two years of nursing experience, preferably in school or community health
