Qualifications

Responsibilities

$20,000 sign on bonus for experienced ER RN

Under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (ED) standing orders, standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, and Grand View Hospital policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Department is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Department position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

  • Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
  • Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
  • Implementing clinical nursing interventions
  • Having a highly diverse skillset
  • Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
  • Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment
  • Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short stay to trauma
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice

Our Emergency Department has 30 beds plus 2 Trauma bays. We see patients range in age from newborn to geriatric. All medical concerns including STEMIs, acute stroke and trauma patients, as well as patients experiencing mental health emergencies.

Schedule: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation

Qualifications

Education and Experience:Vocational diploma Nursing Diploma, required Minimum of 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse required Licenses and Certifications:Registered Nurse in PA – Licensed, Upon hire, requiredCertified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Upon hire, preferredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Within 1 year of hire, requiredBasic Life Support (BLS), Upon hire, required
