Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking an RN for night shift in the Emergency Department on Memorial Rd. The position involves applying the nursing process to deliver patient care, maintaining accountability for care quality, and coordinating with other departments to support patient needs and rights.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, has a nursing degree (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN), and can obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire; additional certifications may be required by the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• RN license in hiring state or compact licensure, maintained per state requirements.
• Basic Life Support certification or course within 30 days of hire; additional certifications may be required.

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe.
