Job summary

Rio Grande Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse focused on Diagnostic Imaging. You will deliver direct patient care, use therapeutic communication, and uphold safety for diverse age groups.

Qualifications

  • ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RN licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience with radiation safety required.
  • Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Experience with infant to adult radiology patients preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of the RN practice act, with emphasis on diagnostic imaging patients.
  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Engage in the nursing process and direct care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process and adjust care as needed.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families to help informed health care decisions.
  • Delegate tasks to appropriate staff and coordinate with the care team.
  • Participate in imaging department initiatives and process improvements.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic Imaging patient

  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice

  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment

  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process

  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care

  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver

  • Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement

  • Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment

  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs

  • Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned

  • Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • (RN) Registered Nurse

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Experience with radiation safety required

  • Critical Care experience preferred

  • Experience with infant to adult radiology patients, preferred
