Job summary

Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas, is seeking a Registered Nurse Radiology to provide direct patient care within the RN Practice Act, with emphasis on diagnostic imaging patients. You will use therapeutic communication, maintain a safe environment, implement the nursing process, and evaluate outcomes while supporting patients and families.

ACLS and BCLS within 30 days, RN license, Bachelor’s degree, and radiation safety experience are required; the hospital offers extensive benefits

Qualifications

  • ACLS and BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Experience with radiation safety required.
  • Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Experience with infant to adult radiology patients preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the RN Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic Imaging patient.
  • Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver.
  • Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment.
  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs.
  • Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned.
  • Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.

Job Summary And Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience with radiation safety required
  • Critical Care experience preferred
  • Experience with infant to adult radiology patients, preferred
