Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Professional Staff Nurse for a 36-hour-per-week, day shift role. The RN will provide patient care, lead care planning, and collaborate with physicians and team members to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities include teaching patients and families, applying the nursing process, and participating in governance and quality improvements to enhance patient care and staff development.

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and applies in teaching of patients, families, students and new staff, providing detailed teaching to guide care and transition.
• Applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment and develops daily goals and care plans for patients.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development, participates in unit-based governance, and supports change to improve care and practice.
• Participates in quality improvement, uses evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care.
